Has anyone got anything exciting to show off at the next meeting?
If anyone has been following my blog they will know that I've been
getting into Ubuntu. It's pretty good. I'm still in the early days of
running full-time on Linux, so I'm still working out which applications
will do what I want. e.g. I've used Thunderbird on Windows and Linux for
mail, but I'm now playing with Kmail to see how it integrates with other
KDE apps.
Something I intend to work on soon is getting some home video onto DVD.
I've managed the first stage of getting footage onto the disk via
Firewire using Kino. I think Kino can do the editing I need, but then I
need to get it into the right format for DVD. Has anyone done this sort
of thing?
Of course, if anyone is full of enthusiasm about encryption after last
month and wants to do some keysigning I'm always up for it.
