[Herts] Projector?

I am not so sure every would agree that the prices have dropped that significantly. 

I just had a quick look new the cheapest you're looking at is around £200 to £250 and I had a look on eBay and the choice and prices aren't look that encouraging also. 

Don't get me wrong I think a projector would be a great asset and be very useful but they can be very temperamental beasts and sometimes not the most reliable pieces of kit. I am not sure how many people turn up regular to the meets but speaking for myself personally I am not totally convinced on the money front of this investment.

However if we can procure one at a very reasonable price and everyone is up for it then that would be different.

In the past there have been a number of occasions where people have
asked to use a projector at meetings. I think this need has, where
possible, been filled by folks kindly borrowing / loaning their own or
work's equipment. Unfortunately it don't think it always works out that
the offered kit actually makes it to the meeting ;)

Would it be useful to have a projector available to the LUG permanently?
If someone turned up with an impromptu talk or demo we could then just
whip it out and away you go...

Has anyone got a projector they would be willing to donate to the LUG?

If not is anyone interested in having a whip round ?  Prices seem to
have dropped so much these days surely we can scrounge together enough
to get one? If people think it a good idea of course?
