what Jeff Atwood writes. I gave up reading hardware blogs years ago
when most stuff got good/cheap enough

Depends if you want SSD just for speed or if you want silence too.
It's not that hard to make a drive pretty quiet.

I've just bought a conventional drive for my PC, but I'll be looking
at SSD options next time.
