****** Technical Specialist - IP Communications ******
ProVu have an immediate vacancy for a Technical Specialist. The company 
sells Voice over IP and Videophone Hardware and Software to customers in 
the UK and Europe.

ProVu also provide complete solutions with ADSL connectivity and the
communications endpoint - this is supported from our offices. The 
company is now developing hosted services to provide multimedia 
communications to our clients.

We seek a young, probably degree qualified (but others considered), 
trainee to join our small team based in Marsden, Huddersfield.

***** Person Requirements *****

**** Essential skills ****

The required general skills include:-
     * Good communicator - friendly and approachable.
     * To deal with technical and customer sales enquiries.
     * Willing to work within a small company.
     * To take responsibility and work hard - a self starter.
     * Able to patiently deal with people less technical than yourself
     * High quality written and spoken english.

**** Technical Skills ****
The technical skills required ideally include:-
     * Linux server administration - installation, security.
     * IP networking - ethernet, IP addressing, ADSL troubleshooting, 
knowledge of ISP operations/hosted services.
     * Able to talk non technical customers through technical points
       understanding of VoIP using SIP and (less so) h.323.
Programming and scripting skills a bonus - internal systems run using 
LAMP architecture.

**** Other useful attributes ****

A flair for creative development of new ideas, products and services.
Website design skills.
Driving Licence.

of free parking nearby.

Some scope for flexible working arrangements subject to agreement.

Will involve some travel to UK customers and also to provu hosting 
locations.
