I completely agree with you, distro wars are stupid and pointless and  
the choice that open-source software offers is one of the things that  
has made me such a fan.

Over the years, I've tried using Debian, SuSE, Redhat, Damn Small  
Linux and even slackware, however I keep coming back to gentoo for two  
reasons:

1. It does what _I_ want it to.
2. ummm, that's it really...

I appreciate that it's not for everyone, but it has taught me loads  
(my first install from Stage one and boot strapping took me four days!).

Anyways, I'll stop singing it's praises now and get back in my box... :oP
