Nevertheless, would it not have been better reporting to say that "Mr 
Mitchell was under the mistaken impression that......."

The piece still gives the average reader the idea that it is only geeks 
prepared to jump through hoops that can use Linux on a laptop.

Ironically I use Windows on a laptop, which I installed as I bought it 
with no OS!
