[Klug-general] Gnome Crash

Ubuntu was working perfectly for me, but in the last week when ever
the screensaver kicks in Gnome crashes/reloads and I have to log in
again and reopen all my applications.

The only change to the machine was VMware Server which I have now
uninstalled but Gnome still crashes.  Gnome even crashes when I click
System -> Perferences -> Screensaver.

I have googled a lot but have not found a cure.  I did reinstall
Gnome-screensaver like one site suggested but it still crashes.

Any suggestions? And dont say use KDE :-)
I do not want to do a reinstall.
