I think it would be better if people register a new on the new site.
There are some more fields to fill in info and also it might help
prune out a few people who are no longer active members.

As for the redirect that's already taken care off. kent.lug.org.uk is
redirected to the current site by a bit of html at the moment.

The main move might have to take place on friday as I'm away most of
next week and it looks like we already have the answer as to which
site to run with.
