[Klug-general] Linux and Vista

I'm a realist not an evangelist and used to follow the AMD line, right up till the Core 2 Duo came out, the Toshiba laptop I got last month (Satellite A100-998) just blasts everything out of the water, has 2GB memory standard, very good screen and 200GB of disk. It also came with XP/Vista mail in so I've now got 13 surplus copies of Vista I can't do anything with (legally)

Most of my office systems are AMD with the exception of my main server and my server at home which was one of Dells £99 specials a year or so ago and has been upgraded a few times.

Personally I avoid intel, but thats as much about taste as anything
else.

But yes, build it yourself. If someone wants to go down this route, feel
free to email me either on or off list and I can help you pick the
parts. If you turn upto a meet with a box of bits I am sure there will
be enough people to stick it together for you, or help you do it (Don't
bring this to a pub meet tho :p)
