I also had a copy of .gov's response, I read it as "We know it exists, we know that in some cases it would achieve our goals more realistically and for less money, however we're a Microsoft Shop and as long as Billy-Boy is our friend, that's the way it's going to stay..."

I may be being cynical, I may have misread it, however I think another petition along similar lines (remember this new one is aimed more at Local.gov than national.gov) can only re-inforce the fact that the Open-Source community bis not going to let this one go...
