Well i can tell you in intrepid with openoffice 3 compiz and a nvidia
card it works fine i use it at work most days, its installed from a ppa
on launchpad and i have been using it pretty much since it was released.

probably not much help but thought i would let you know that the
combination should work, but obviously everything can be slightly
different like version of nvidia drivers xservers and even the oo
builds.
