I think you'll find the EEEPC is actually quite groundbreaking in its design, specifically to be low power - 7 watts, as opposed to 40 watts for the average laptop, & with Pupeee installed, we are not experiencing any problems with the CF devices, using either fat32 or e2fs, & which are predicted to have lives extending to 25 years, way more than the average hard drive, even with ntfs on it !
