Hi all, sorry if I'm treading on anyone's toes with this post but this
is something that was discussed on Halloween in Ashford.

What was discussed is to aim to do three separate and different games.
Each game is organised by a separate person who provides copies of the
game (Ashford has no internet) and a server (hosting it on your gaming
rig is allowed) but stand alone servers score geek points :)

We discussed:
1: Armagetron - http://www.armagetronad.net/ Easy to learn and get
into. Runs on fairly low spec hardware and looks nice on newer
machines. This is the one I'm aiming to do.
2: An FPS (there are lots of them). I think Tremulous -
http://tremulous.net/ was suggested and that Thom wants to run this
one. If there are any prefered FPSs this is open to discussion.
3: Something different... One idea was Glest -
http://glest.org/en/index.php a RTS with some promise.

The important thing is that there is minimal electricity and technical
infrastructure and no internet in Ashford at the theatre.

People need to bring their computer.
Enough multi plug sockets to run their hardware (and a little spare
for good measure).
Network switches and spare cables.
Copies of games built for different distros (remember can't download).
Server(s) for games.

Anyway. Open to discussion :) and all ideas welcome.

Those who have seen my excessive hair in the past will see I'm once
again keen to do my bit for geeking out :)
