Excellent points... and the weather station is also available in an
RS485[1] version.  However, 1-wire seems quite popular for the other
sensors and I've created quite an interest on the owfs-devel list for
creating a generic 1-wire slave device! :)

Will probably return to RS485 if I start doing anything serious with it.
