[Klug-general] copying a symlink to other users

hi all

much like what i was trying to do a few weeks back with copying a 
directory to all users (500+) on my system im now trying to copy a 
desktop shortcut to a shared directory to all users. regardless of the 
script im using to copy, a simple "sudo cp Desktop/Shared 
/home/user/Desktop/." does not work ;
cp: omitting directory `Desktop/Shared`

what gives? is it trying to cp the actual directory that the symlink 
points to?

i guess i could modify the "copy to all users script" to a "create 
symlink for all users script"
