Talking of things starting with - I've had a slightly similar bit of fun
with an
application called pdfimage
This takes a pdf and extracts all the images into separate files:
numbered off with leading minus signs.
Ever tried doing anything with a file like that?
I wound up writing a C program to use the rename function just to get at the
damn things.

Still, beats watching TV.
