After discussion with a colleague on security (we have PCI compliance
amongst other things coming up). He showed me the 200 page document he had
on securing Red Hat 5

The NSA has lots of stuff on computer security and Information Assurance:
http://www.nsa.gov/ia/index.shtml

Well worth a look for those with a publicly accessible box. It does tell you
how to do lots of things rather than the usual generic advice.
