Did I hear minimal window manager?

Did I hear CLI? Hi.

As anyone who has met me or read my mails to the list knows, I am a great
fan of the command line, I use it for most things, from email (mutt), to
web browsing (links), editing (vi), even playing music (mplayer/ogg123).

But, for all that I love of the command line, I do not use it exclusively.
I run a GUI. Admittedly it is a very very minimalist GUI. And when I say
minimalist, I mean it:

This is a typical view of my desktop. As you can see its got lots of
command line goodness going on, but, I still have access to more sensible
applications such as mozilla (not pictured), or xmms for music. Note, I
run xmms in the background like then talk to it via xmms-shell, via the
command line. What you wont see is silly title bars, unneeded menus, and
desktop environment eye candy wasting resources...

It is a setup that works well.

So, before anyone jumps in and goes wholey CLI, stop and think, are you
actually just making pain for yourself? is there a more sensible middle
ground?

Can I second this, the In-Reply-To: header is an intrisic part of the
email system and allows for a better understanding of the relationship of
emails. Emails are not a series of independant posts, but a collective
series of statements intended to make a proposition...
