With the Geforce 2 I have in my Living Room machine for MythTV - the
nv driver wasn't good enough. I'm using a backport of the nvidia
driver designed to work with Xorg 1.9.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Wayland - I read they
have "no plans to support it".
