[Klug-general] Boot Problems

Hi All
  I hope this is nothing obvious
   I have a problem getting Ubuntu server boot from Hard disc (sda1). I 
have, an as yet unformatted second drive on sdd1. Installation goes 
smoothly but boot "sticks" looking at the (empty) CD drive.
Trying the option to boot from the hard drive on the rescue disc gives 
the message
Booting from Local disk
   isolinux: Disk error 01 AX=0201 drive 80
I have tried a couple of drives with no joy
