That's something that can be done with JACK and a multi-channel sound
card. Unfortunately mine has only got six outputs (two of which are
*the* spdif) and four quarter-inch mono jacks (ie two pairs of
headphones with jack converters). (soundcard is a m-audio delta 66).

JACK allows you to do things like listen to one internet radio station
while recording one or more other stations (until you discover they
have podcasts afterall ;-).
