At the risk of sounding too obvious, I'd pay good money for my copy of
LibreOffice.


I agree with that. I also wonder if we should set a rule that donations go
to apps rather than distros as apps can be used by regardless of their
distro choice (it might nip any potential flaming in the bud as well)
