Yes, this beauty has PWM speed control - which means if the CPU isn't doing anything much, it isn't getting hot, and the OS will slow down the fan automatically.

Most of the time it's going at around 1000RPM, which is pretty quiet.

Gavin and I are looking for one that goes down to 600RPM, but the problem with my set up is one of space and the amount of metal on the heatsink to keep it cool.

My CPU heatsink and fan is just 67mm high...

..and I have 70mm of space to play with.
