I got the dongle working by plugging in before booting up but I'm still curious about how to locate it.

Original question
        I'm trying to get my wireless internet dongle working again. Is there a
        command on the lines of
        
        List USB Device Addresses
        
        which gives results like 
        
        ...
        Modem dev/usb/tty999
        ...
