Hello again
I rebooted the laptop, inserted the CD, logged in to get the dmsg and lspci messages, saved them as text in a pendrive, rebooted in "installed" mode...
And now everything works better!!!! both the volume buttons (including the mute one) and the wireless card...

The wireless itself doesn't work yet, but at least the system allows me to define an IP and all the settings for it.
Odd...

Keep you updated
Calling it a day...
Antonio

Asunto: [Klug-general] Linux installation on laptop

Hi
I just installed LinuxMint13 in my laptop (Dell Latitude D400).
When booting from CD (prior to installation) it worked well with the volume buttons, but they don't work anymore after installing... any idea how can I fix it?
Also doesn't detect my Broadcom BCM4324 wireless card (didn't either prior installation)

lspci -nn reports it as [14e4:4324]
I tried with ndiswrapper wich installed el oem file but still doesn't work.
Could you please help me?
I am quite a newbee in Linux trying to jump to the "bright side" :)
Many thanks in advance
Antonio
