Join stackoverflow.com and try to build rep by answering questions.
You'll soon discover how (in)competent you (we all) are ;-)

Before asking any questions on stackoverflow, take a look at [closed]
questions, and those voted down below zero, as you'll find how not to
ask questions, and pointers to material guiding you how to ask
questions.

But like any social networking site, stackoverflow can still be a
major factor contributing to you doing what you intended to do.
