When I did my nurse training in Norwich back in 1989, we had to do a
"community project" on a given area and relate it to health
informatics. The area that I was involved with had several schools
in, plus a section of the inner link road. I was able to obtain road
accident figures, gathered by the police, from Norfolk County
Council traffic department. I assume that Kent will have a similar
bureaucracy to that of Norfolk, so the traffic department might be
your first port of call. Be prepared to have to wade through reams
[or that's what it seems like] of computer printout to mine the
information you're looking for! Knowing the accident figures, causes
and time of day, will help in getting the traffic density figures,
and maybe the Traffic Department could give you computer printout
relating more specifically to "road density" for your specified
area?
