Good progress last evening wrt  remote scanning. Well done Martyn. Just 
need to sort out remote burning.

The PC that I took home for further investigation has a duff power 
supply. It ran up OK using a borrowed
power supply from one of my own boxes. I checked internal fuse and 
bridge rectifier -- beyond that I'm stumped.

Has anyone got a spare ATX power supply?
