[Lancaster] 2 old laptops facing chop

Martyn,

I've tried hard to revive the 2 old laptops that you gave me, but to no 
avail.

I can get them to boot, but they both refuse to recognise floppy or hard 
drives. I've tried with known working/formatted floppies and hard 
drives. The hard drive that came with the laptops was definately dead.
Also, one has an iffy keyboard.

According to info obtained via the web, there are no replaceable parts 
on the mobos, so I guess that not much can be done.

Shall I return them to you or retire them permanently?

I'll not be able to make it to the Folly this Wednesday (26th). Also, 
I've not yet been able to get down to set up the last of the 'Tiny' 
boxes -- a combination of a stinking cold and life in general.
