Yes - this is not directly related to Linux, per se. However, insomuch
as Linux requires a decent internet connection, I have a little
problem . . .
My current ISP, Demon, has gone a bit rubbish since they moved over to
ADSL2 back in June 2009. I've reported the problems to Demon but they
didn't seem to care much, blaming my 'unsupported router' or some such
rubbish (it's a Netgear DG834G).
So I'm thinking, "Time to get myself a new ISP"
Problem is, there are so many out there that I wondered if anyone had
any recommendations. My requirements are fairly simple:
1. Unlimited downloads
2. Static IP address
3. At least 2Mbps downstream
4. Less than £25/month
The following ISPs I wouldn't touch with a barge-pole: AOL, BT, Sky,
Virgin, TalkTalk, Tiscali and Orange.
Many thanks for your help. Regards,
jonathan
P.S. Yes, I'm aware of all the ISP comparison web-sites. I'm merely
wondering if there's any consensus regarding decent ISPs amongst the
Linux crowd.
