[Lancaster] first meeting of the year

Hi everyone,
i've been following the discussion rather silently. I must say some
interesting ideas are flying through, and I'm looking forward to some of
those demos. I myself although new to the group am not a newbie in
gnu/linux either (as Joost previously added). Though I don't have much
experience in lots of installations and stuff, i've been using linux as
my main env for a number of years so I know my way around a linux box
fairly well. That being said, I find really interesting some of the
workshops being proposed such as advanced installs, networking, secure
severs etc. Although I won't be available on the 6th of Jan for the
first meeting (will be back from greece on the 9th) and I'm afraid I'm
gonna miss the very interesting sounding andy's demo, I'll catch up with
you all in feb.
On a second note, I like the proposal of (Gareth I think?) about having
some programming demos too. I have somethings I could demo myself, like
programming for multitouch tables using free software, or some handset
development like development, I wouldn't be able to guarantee anything
at the moment to put it in the schedule as I am extremely busy with my
day work. However if some of this appears interesting we might rethink
it in the new year and be able to squeeze it in sometime in the next year.
cheers all,
Serko
