The magazine gurus reckon that the latest version of KDE4 is sort of OK, but
I'm not yet convinced. Anyway, there's just too much wizz bang eye candy for
my liking.

I'm presently using v3.5.10 on my main PC (ie this one)

So much polish that perhaps it sometimes slips up. :-)

I've presently got 9 OSes/distros set up under vitualBox v3.0.10. It's a good
way to test/explore, but not everything will this way. For example, the ASCOM
package for driving astronomical gear is for use under the likes of win XP
and I use it this way on my laptop, but ASCOM will not run via VitualBox.

Kaffeine just worked for me and is stable with digital radio/TV, CDs, etc.

Thanks. All being well I shall get there, but who knows? ;-)
