well the XPS got delivered today! it left shanghai on monday and arrived 
on my doorstep today around 3pm
nice and easy to setup, it asked me a couple of questions and i was 
booted into 12.04! in around the 10 second mark to boot!!
i changed the settings in update manager to take all versions of the 
ubuntu upgrades and kicked of a update to 13.04 which it took all of 
half hour to download all the packages and update them!
rebooted and its all working fine it even updated the specific ubuntu 
packages built for the dell so things light the mouse works properly and 
function keys.
Its taken a couple of hours to get it all setup and ive tested a few 
games including native and steam and they are running flawlessly!
its a great build 13.3 screen running at 1920x1080! which is sounds 
small but you can get a lot on the screen! im going to do some more 
testing but so far i have to say its probably the fastest bit of kit ive 
ever laid hands on its a little animal!!
