Hi everyone

Sorry this is a bit late but Philip and I are currently on our summer
holidays between trips out camping, so I thought I would get this posted.
Hope you've all enjoyed your summer break :)

Last month's LUG meeting was awesome; we had 5 new members attend and one
of them, Terry, brought along his Raspberry Pi which we set-up in the
corner so that members could have a play. Terry also gave us our first
technical talk on IPv6, and he has kindly provided an overview of this as
well as some topics for future talks [1]. The IPv6 talk prompted lots of
questions afterwards and was generally well received by everyone. There was
discussion about keeping future talks to between 15 - 30 mins so that the
subject is kept light and punchy, and this allows plenty of time
for discussion/questions afterwards.

After the meeting, and via the mailing list, talk of setting up an IRC
channel for the LUG was floated. Thanks to Graham Markell, we now have our
very own IRC channel on the Freenode network; it is #lincolnlug. If any
members are new to IRC, please feel free to mail the list to ask any
questions; there's more than one or two of us who can help :)

Next month's meeting is on Wednesday 19th September 2012, starting at 7pm
in Lincoln Bowl. Let me know via the mailing list what you want for this
month's meeting - another talk or just a social get together? Philip, Neal
and I attended OggCamp last weekend, so at a push, we could bore you all to
death reminiscing about that :D

Cheers

Becky
