I'm forwarding this to the LUG as some of you may be interested in
attending.
I'm free on Valentine's evening if my significant other is stuck for ideas
on how to surprise me *hint hint* :-D
Cheers

Hello!
My name's Katie, and I'm emailing about Festival of the Spoken Nerd, a
group of sci-curious comedians coming to a theatre near you. Hopefully
you've heard of them! I notice you're involved with Lincoln LUG, and SUDO
please can you take a look at the info below, and pass it on to anyone you
think would be interested?
The Spoken Nerds are travelling across the UK from January 2014 with their
all-new show full of wit and wonder: Full Frontal Nerdity. With rave
reviews from nerds and non-nerds alike, it's a fantastic night of science
comedy entertainment, and we're hoping to spread the word far and wide. The
Nerds electrocute an innocent gerkhin for science, smash a glass with just
the power of the human voice (plus a heavy duty amplifier) and do things
with spreadsheets that are illegal in 17 countries. And have I mentioned
the flame tornados? Both of them?
There are a few tour dates in your local area - including one at LPAC in
Lincoln, on 14th February (details below). It'd make a great night out!
Please could you let your members / colleagues / friends know about Full
Frontal Nerdity, and pass this on to anyone you think will enjoy it? Full
details are below, and do feel free to cut, paste or forward this email.
We'd love your local venues to be filled with people who appreciate the
unique mixture of comedy, science and nerdiness, and we hope you'll join us
too.
Please note that the show is only suitable for ages 15+ as it contains some
strong language and spreadsheets.
Thanks very much!
Katie

Festival of the Spoken Nerd: THE FULL FRONTAL NERDITY TOUR!
Fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe, the sell-out comedy phenomenon is back on
tour with a brand new show for the insatiably sci-curious.
Whether you loved or loathed the school science lab, Festival of the Spoken
Nerd is here to feed your brain, tickle your ribs and light your Bunsen
burner.
Last seen on stage at the Hammersmith Apollo with Prof Brian Cox, Robin
Ince and astronaut Chris Hadfield, stand-up mathematician Matt Parker (BBC2
Things You Need To Know) experiments maestro Steve Mould (BBC1 Britain's
Brightest street scientist) and geeky songstress Helen Arney (BBC Radio4
Infinite Monkey Cage) mix astonishing science with statistically
significant comedy - and maybe a few things that go BANG!
With over a million views on YouTube for their experiments, songs and
stand-up, thisis your chance to see three of the UK's best (and nerdiest)
performers in an unforgettable night of comedy and curiosity. Full Frontal
Nerdity guaranteed!
Recommended age 15+. Contains strong language and spreadsheets.
