[Lincs] quick question

NTL do not 'officially' support Linux... but that is purely because they dont
want the expense of training etc. I could not get my cable modem to work with
SUSE using the USB cable, however the Ethernet cable works fine...

The trick is to ignore NTL! basically set linux up to treat your inbuilt
ethernet card (cheap ones that work available from www.ebuyer.co.uk) as your
method of connecting to the internet... and basically... your on! The cable
modem is then treated as a computer on the network! if you want any help ort
further details let me know!
