I just had quick look on the latest KNOPPIX CDs and found OpenOffice and 
GIMP (version 2.0.4) on it! As I'll be talking about KNOPPIX anyway, 
we'll have plenty CDs flying around.

There's no need for you to bring your tower, but please try to be at the 
venue at 3pm (for testing purposes).
