Just so you know. The Hants, Surrey and Wolves LUGs used to get a lot
of spam on their (usemod based) wikis too. Some of the HantsLUG guys
developed patches to help reduce that and make it easy to roll back
spam. These patches were tested on the Hants Wiki (and a few other
personal wikis). They were then deployed to the Wolves and Surrey LUGs
wikis (by myself) and neither gets any more than one spam of one page
per fortnight (or thereabouts). They are easily (two clicks) and
quickly (within minutes or hours) vapourised by a number of admins who
keep an eye on the RSS feeds.
Just a thought, but if you wanted to keep *a* wiki, not necessarily
the wiki you have, you could do worse than use the codebase that
HantsLUG uses.
The AntiSpam page [1] on the HantsLUG wik has more details.
I'd gladly volunteer to help you setup a wiki such as
Hants/Surrey/Wolves has, and migrate any useful content from your
existing wiki over.
Cheers,
Al.
