Hi Iain
This is what I was hoping to avoid - any hostility, and I am sensing
hostility from you. I am not after "power" or attempting a coup, nor
am I subtly threatening to involve external agencies. I am trying to
follow a due process as laid out in guidance on lug.org.uk website to
relaunch an existing (but inactive) LUG for Lincolnshire. I'm sorry
if you misinterpreted this as me quoting rules and regs at you.
Sometimes, to make things happen someone just needs to step forward
and show the initiative - this is what I have done.
I have been diplomatic and democratic, in that I have contacted a
dormant mailing list and asked its members if they would be interested
in a relaunch of the Lincolnshire LUG by me. Members have come back
and said that they are interested in a more active LUG. All further
correspondence has been conducted openly and transparently through the
mailing list.
As stated in all previous emails by me this is a completely _new_
initiative so I am unsure where you are going with the whole "if you
are fairly chosen" business. As far as I am aware, there is no
existing active Lincolnshire LUG to do the choosing from. However, if
you think differently we can mail out for a vote of confidence/no
confidence from the existing mailing list members if you want to.
Apologies if there has been any misunderstanding about my intentions
for the Lincolnshire LUG. To be clear, I am proposing to reset the
Lincolnshire LUG as new and it would be nice to have your support. I
want a more active LUG for my county and I am prepared to take this
forward.
Regards
Becky
