RGM's team of professionals, including scientists with backgrounds in  
computer science, physics, statistics and ecology, have developed an  
extensive suite of proprietary software to manage all of its research

We are currently searching for a Unix/Linux Systems and Network  
Administrator for our growing London office (Mayfair area).  Our  
ideal candidate is someone deeply technical and experienced in UNIX  
system administration and is capable of managing large-scale  
strategic and forward-looking projects of high complexity.  We are  
also looking for someone with a strong background in networking  
including DNS, WANs, (Cisco) routing , firewalls, VPNs and telecom.

SYSTEMS AND NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

Responsibilities include:

	 	·      Capacity planning for systems and networking

·      Interacting with facilities managers and on-site  
administrators at multiple geographically-dispersed data center

·      Understanding and overseeing the construction, operation, and  
growth of several distributed production information systems and  
their respective environments as well as large-scale cluster  
computing resources for internal application development

·      Installation and configuration of large numbers of systems

·      Day-to-day system administration concerns such as network  
security, user management, network troubleshooting, host management,  
printer management, backup monitoring and verification, general help  
desk responsibility, firewall and routing management and VPN  
connectivity

·      Cross-training in understanding, monitoring and  
troubleshooting trading systems to provide back up support

Specific skills sought include:

·      Deep familiarity with Linux and UNIX system administration  
(Debian Linux is a plus)

·      DNS, routing, firewalls, e-mail, distributed authentication,  
VPNs, telco liaison, and other network administration concerns,  
particularly in large-scale, complex WAN environments

·      Production support of large-scale, data-intensive distributed  
information systems; management of large-scale storage environments  
(terabytes and beyond)

·      Large SQL database management, cluster computing environment  
management, and familiarity with numerically intensive scientific  
computing applications a plus;

·      Financial services domain experience (in particular securities  
and other trading environment) a plus
