Hello Luggers,
A Colleague of mine is looking for a Ruby dev for a media group in Central
London, its a 3 Month contract paying up to £330 per day.
You would join a team of 4 developers (all mid-senior) working on a suite of
applications. The team is almost entirely self-sufficient as they own and
manage all of the application environments (QA, staging, production,
database etc). Initially, no specific domain-knowledge is required (finance
/ media) but you will be expected to be able to obtain a good grasp of the
domain and the applications quickly.
Essential Skills;
* Advanced knowledge of Ruby and Ruby on Rails (up to version
2.3.8).
* Demonstrable knowledge of Test Driven Development practices using
Cucumber and RSpec.
* Experience of 3rd party integration using both SOAP and XML
services
* Demonstrable knowledge of database design, database normalisation
and advanced SQL.
* Demonstrable knowledge of Agile practices, specifically SCRUM,
including story writing and estimation, writing acceptance criteria and
creating test scenarios.
* Experience of a Linux development environment.
(really need to have all of the above as they need someone to hit the ground
running, i.e. there is no time to learn on the job)
Desirables;
* Experience of Ubuntu (10.04).
* Experience of Microsoft SQL Server 2005
* Any usability and/or UI design knowledge
* Exposure to SharePoint 2007
* SOX compliance awareness
If you are interested, let me know and Ill pass your details on to him.
Dan.
