Job Description

 

Infrastructure Engineer

 

Company Background

ScanSafe's (recently acquired by Cisco) suite of services includes Web
Malware Scanning, Web Filtering and Anywhere+. All of ScanSafe's
solutions are powered by Outbreak Intelligence(tm), a unique,
multi-layered combination of threat detection technology that includes
leading third party anti-virus engines and proprietary heuristics.
Unlike other solutions, which rely on URL databases to identify
malicious sites, ScanSafe scans all Web requests in real time, so
customers receive comprehensive protection from all threats, including
threats that appear before an anti-virus signature is available.

Responsibilities: 
- Planning and improvement of platforms and architecture
- Procurement and supply of all systems globally
- Liaison between our Operations and DataCenter Teams
- DataCenter provider technical due diligence and specification
- Change Management
- Ensuring high levels of technical quality and consistency throughout
the global architecture
- Produce high quality documentation

Personal Attributes:
- Keen, quick-thinking; a go-getter with ambition and drive
- Able to work within a team on shared tasks and projects
- Able to communicate effectively giving confidence of delivery of tasks
within agreed timescales
- Prepared to be technically challenged and cross-trained

Technical Skills (Required):
- Good knowledge of RedHat or CentOS linux with broad application
experience to RHCE level
- Good knowledge of Cisco networking - ideally a CCNA as a minimum
- Good knowledge of systems, networks and datacenter architecture -
minimum 3-5 years
- Excellent process and data capture skills using bespoke tools and
spreadsheets
- Experience of working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment such a
.dot-com or ISP
