*** LINUX SUPPORT ANALYST - NORTH LONDON - £25K + BENEFITS ***

THIS ROLE WILL INCLUDE EVENING AND WEEKEND WORK - This can be done from home provided you have an adequate broadband connection and telephone.

This position is a new Support position for the client, working alongside additional support and development teams your responsibility will be a mix of second line support, systems administration and project work. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 
. Providing second-line support (online and telephone based) to clients; diagnosing problems and providing fixes and workarounds in a timely fashion. 
. Communicating progress to clients; ensuring you have a full understanding of their requirements and any problems. 
. Undertaking software installations and upgrades; managing roll-outs to minimise the need for the development team to be involved. 
. Helping with fixing bugs found in testing or reported by clients. 
. Configuring the Linux web server clusters for maximum performance and stability. 
. Applying security patches and updates to the Linux and Windows servers and developing a process to ensure that machines are kept up-to-date, without compromising service continuity. 

You must have the following experience: 
. Experience of administering Linux web servers; ideally with experience of tuning high performance servers. You must also be familiar with Windows servers. 
. Experience of working with SQL Server databases. 
. Knowledge of SQL and writing reports. 

Any other skills will be of interest but NOT essential: Bash, Apache, Nginx, Debian or Python. 

There is a strong focus on providing customer/client support in this role. As such you Must have Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Successful and Growing software house is looking for an Experienced Linux Systems Administrator to be responsible for the Linux based systems. 

Ideally you will be a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHEC), however other certifications/qualifications will be considered. 

As an experienced Linux System Administrator you will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This will include: 
. Server installation, management, maintenance (Linux & Mac) 
. Desktop client administration (Mac) 
. Network configuration and management (internet connectivity, router, switch, WiFi) 
. Physical infrastructure management (power, cabling, rack space, patching)
