Wavestore are an established CCTV provider with an international customer base. Operating at the forefront of the development of digital video recording solutions, their core product is an embedded device based upon Scientific Linux 6. An opportunity has now arisen for a skilled developer with Linux expertise to join their team in Hayes, Greater London.

The primary role is to work on the development of the embedded appliance. You will be responsible for such tasks as:

 - Making various customisations to the OS and its configuration
 - Compiling drivers for certain required hardware devices
 - Packaging the software into RPMs
 - Debugging and resolving problems which fall into this area of the product
 - Maintaining and improving the software build systems
 
This role requires strong general Linux skills and a degree is preferable but not essential. The ideal candidate will also possess some or all of the following skills:

 - Python and bash scripting
 - Knowledge of packaging with rpm
 - Ability to build software from source
 - Familiarity with build systems, version control systems, bug tracking systems
