As a Deployment Engineer, you will work on a highly visible team dedicated to the efficiency, stability and availability of our ecommerce lab, staging, Production and cloud environments. We strive for flawless engineering of continuous delivery, automating processes and procedures, and operational excellence to ensure our deployments are delivered on time with no production impact. You will engage with teams including Release Management, DevOps, Application Engineering, Test, and Development to ensure build conception and delivery end to end is engineered, managed, and delivered successfully.

Summary of essential job functions

* Aggressively become a critical team member by quickly learning our current workflows, build technologies, automation, and challenges.
* Manage the planning, engineering, and operational end to end delivery mechanisms, technologies, and processes for all build and deployments within the organization.
* Proactively identify and drive automation of tasks associated with end to end build and deployment delivery.
* Take initiative in discovering existing and new challenges pertaining to build and deployment for our customers, seeking to improve, resolve, and streamline challenges.
* Function as a team member supporting our organization by driving the end to end stability and availability of tools and environments used by our customers to support build and deployment delivery.
* Develop and maintain documentation and diagrams outlining current and projected environments, procedures, and processes.

Minimum requirements

* Significant experience with Release or Application Engineering Experience.
* Strong experience scripting and automating solutions directly related to Build and Deployment.
* Experience with Python & PowerShell automating tasks related to Build and Deployment technologies and processes.
* Experience with Team Foundation Server, Jenkins, Chef, Perforce, Jira.
* Experience with Java, Tomcat, and IIS.
* Good exposure to AWS or similar cloud providers is desirable.
* Extensive experience working with Windows and Linux platforms.
* Experience with Branching Strategies and Methodologies.
* Experience working with Virtualization.
* Experience working in and supporting an enterprise ecommerce environment.
* Excellent analytical & troubleshooting skills.
* Strong written and verbal skills.
* Strong collaboration skills.
* Experience working independently, as well as in a team environment, proactively driving initiatives and work tasks meeting agreed delivery time lines.
* Passion for creativity and innovation.

Extended requirements
* Experience working with MS SQL and My SQL.
* Additional scripting knowledge such as XML, XSL, CURL, ASP, VBScript, ruby, PERL - those pertaining to web technologies.
* Fundamental understanding of Network and Load Balancing technologies.
* Experience with SCOM monitoring platform.
* Experience with Splunk and Akamai Technologies.
