Hi,

  BlinkBox Music are looking for an experienced full-stack linux
  engineer to join our Ops team working on a large Debian GNU/Linux
  streaming media platform with a strong "Build not Buy" focus.

  The role is based in London, salary between £40k to £50k depending on

ROLE DESCRIPTION

You will:

- be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and updating of the
  blinkbox Music platform, including development, staging, and production;
- assist the team, and work with developers, to design and implement
  architectural improvements to our infrastructure;
- plan, project manage, and implement new services, products, and features,
  from inception through to production;
- investigate platform issues and faults, working closely with development
  teams to diagnose and resolve;
- support additional platforms such as the reporting system, data processing
  cluster, and content encoding system, alongside some internal IT; and
- take part in an on-call rota to provide 24x7 support cover.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS

- 3+ years experience of running production websites in high traffic
  environments.
- Solid Unix/Linux administration skills.
- Configuration management with Puppet.
- Bash scripting and command-line kung-fu.
- Good knowledge of Java, Python, Ruby, and/or Go.
- Design and implementation of networks, including knowledge of all usual
  networking components (TCP/IP, Load Balancers, Firewalls, DNS, Routing,
  etc.).
- Advanced, top-down troubleshooting skills.

DESIRABLE FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Source control with git.
- Debian/Ubuntu packaging.
- Administering of PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
- Administering of ElasticSearch and other NoSQL systems.
- Setting up and running Hadoop clusters.
- Experience in working with Consul.
- Knowledge of scaling web-based systems.
- Experience with new monitoring tools at scale (Sensu, TSDB, etc.).
