We have a position open for a NOC Analyst at our office in Brighton.

The position is ideal for a sysadmin looking to jump start their career and
provides plenty of opportunities to learn for a keen and self motivated
individual.

Dyn offers all of the expected benefits as well as an office equipped with
a pool table, nerf guns and beer on tap. A work hard play hard attitude is
definitely embraced at Dyn.

The requirements are not exactly that, any combination of them would be
considered. However a strong troubleshooting mindset is required as well as
a highly motivated desire to learn and most importantly, ask questions.

Salary is £30,000 per annum.

Job description is below:

NOC Analyst

Dyn's NOC Analyst is responsible for keeping Dyn's global IP anycast
network and products available and performing well. Job responsibilities
include handling all pages from the notification system, providing first
level support for customer escalated issues, and managing the team's
maintenance calendar/status posts. The NOC Analyst should have strong
communication skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced, technically
challenging environment. A desire and willingness to learn and work in an
"Infrastructure as a Service" environment with many different technologies
(FreeBSD/Linux, databases, networking, etc) is crucial, as this is a great
way to develop skills and learn more about the system administration field.

Job Responsibilities

   - Work with team to ensure uptime and availability of Dyn's DNS and
   Email Delivery services.
   - Monitor critical systems and services to advise of potential outages
   or degradations of service.
   - Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies.
   - Ability to quickly respond to any page and provide initial triage or
   efficiently escalate to Operations staff.
   - Assess customer support escalations and assign to the Operations
   and/or respective product teams.
   - Participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation.
   - Perform other duties as assigned / requested.
   - This role will work 8-5 in Brighton (UTC +/- 0:000)


Required Skills/Education

   - 1-2 years of job experience.
   - The ability to support, troubleshoot,  and understand principal
   components of distributed, fault tolerant systems.
   - Hardware Systems: Dell R-Series Servers; Cisco Switches; Juniper
   Routers, Switches, and Firewalls; various other devices.
   - Software: FreeBSD, Linux, VMware, Shell Scripting, Perl, Python,
   Apache, BIND, Unbound, DJBDNS, MySQL, Cassandra / NoSQL, Exim, Postfix,
   SVN, Nagios, MRTG, RRD, Cacti, Graphite.
   - Protocols: IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, SSL, SSH, SQL, and
   SNMP.
   - Team player, with good communication and documentation skills.
