Hello,
We are currently recruiting for a Linux System Administrator / Technical
Support Specialist to join a major pharmaceutical company for a 3 month
initial contract, based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
Here is the job spec for your reference:
*Linux (Centos/RedHat) system admin / technical support specialist required
to provide day to day technical support for our linux servers and
workstations within a research environment. The user base comprises
computational chemists and data scientists supporting drug discovery
programs. The infrastructure is a mix of business supported and central IT
supported hardware and OS, thus the role will involve liaising with our
business support group in the US and relevant IT support groups to ensure
continuity of service. *
*Tasks will include:*
- *writing scripts to help with monitoring of disk usage and
implementation of records retention policies*
- *Support of applications, queuing software and web-servers*
- *Monitoring of service availability*
- *Reviewing and proposing appropriate action plans for the current
infrastructure particularly with regard to disk usage and server
utilisation. *
*Required technical skills: *
- *Expert in Linux operating system*
- *Shell scripting*
- *Python*
- *Apache / tomcat*
- *Javascript*
