I understand your point. But that's not how things work.
In non-union sectors like IT, wages are determined by the labour market.
And the labour market is dependent on location. Even within the same
country. That's why, for example, Silicon Valley companies said they would
not pay Silicon Valley level salaries to those working remotely from other
parts of the USA.
