[Liverpool] Linux, WRT54G and new year

Hi Omar,
I've used WRT54Gs in several setups and have always been really pleased with
them. The firmware I normally use is the DD-WRT. It's very easy to install
and the control panel uses the same interface as the router's original. The
firmware also gives you shell access to the box to allow even more control.
The Open WRT firmware doesn't (or at least didn't) provide a web interface,
so all control must be done via the console. If you're happy with that
environment, it's very powerful.
Sveasoft have had a range of 'issues' with their licensing, so I'd be
cautious about using that product.
Another point to be aware of is that Linksys changed the boxes a little
while back meaning some of the newer models can't run the modified
firmwares. So you need to be careful of which model you buy (you can find
details of model numbers on the net), or speak to David about his!
Have fun.
